BC stories. Big impact. At VSFF, short films are the main event.

The Vancouver Short Film Festival (VSFF) is seeking submissions for its 2022 edition. From January 28th - 30th, 2022, VSFF returns for its 12th year to showcase the best short films British Columbia has to offer. BC filmmakers are invited to submit their work starting June 1st, 2021.

To assist filmmakers and students facing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, VSFF is lowering submission fees for our 2022 season. Submission Fees are $30 CAD for Professionals and $20 CAD for Students.

Last year, VSFF transitioned to a fully online format. Delivered via Eventive Virtual, VSFF screened our largest program ever with 61 short films across 7 programmes, 3 days of industry talks and filmmaker events, and an Awards Presentation that awarded over $30,000 in cash and in-kind prizes to BC’s top short films.

As British Columbia embarks on its Restart plan, VSFF is closely monitoring the guidelines and restrictions for events in Vancouver. We look forward to announcing the format for our 2022 festival (whether online, in-person, or both) later this year.

Keep an eye on VSFF Social Media throughout our submissions season for news and promotions. Film submission guidelines are available at https://filmfreeway.com/vsff
