The Vancouver Short Film Festival is seeking a Technical Coordinator to help support the festival in its mandate of supporting and showcase BC talent at our 2018 event.
About Us
The Vancouver Short Film Festival (VSFF) is committed to the celebration of the vibrant community of short film, video, and animation artists on the Canadian West Coast. We hope to build ties between emerging and established professionals, and provide an arena where all short filmmakers, including students, can screen their films in public and support their fellow colleagues. Our ultimate goal is to connect short filmmakers to a broader audience in order to grow the local film industry
Duties:
Correspond with selected filmmakers to compile film information and files
Test film files and prepare playlists for screenings
Attend tech rehearsal for festival with playlists to ensure all films run smoothly and audio levels are correct
Mitigate any technical issues with film screenings both before the festival and on the day
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Dropbox and other FTP servers
Proficiency with PowerPoint and VLC media player
Strong written communication skills
Reliable, organized and able to manage time effectively
Past experience with film screenings and festival involvement is a bonus!
Knowledge of film editing software is a bonus but not required
